On September 12, Kolomyia City Council hosted the ceremony of signing the Memorandum of joint implementation of initiatives in electronic democracy and electronic governance between PLEDDG and Eastern Europe Foundation. This cooperation will allow to build a mutually profitable partnership between executive bodies of city councils, local communities and non-governmental organizations, will contribute to solving specific community problems, its development issues, implementing advanced experience and toolkit developed by EUF, such as an Open city platform, Integrated system of local petitions, Public initiatives, Public inspector, Participatory budget, etc.

Kolomyia will become the first partner city which, owing to PLEDDG support, will be connected to the Open city interactive web platform that will enable its residents to draw attention to the pressing community issues, its government to effectively respond to these issues, 1455715574_vidkryteits citizens to self-organize in order to resolve these problems and local business and civil society institutions to plan their charity initiatives based on community needs. The signing ceremony was attended by Kolomyia Mayor Ihor Slyuzar, PLEDDG Director Oleksandr Kucherenko, EUF President Viktor Lyakh, local activists and businessmen from Kolomyia.
