1On December 19th, 2018, the Executive Committee of Kremenchuk City Council held an extended meeting of the Advisory Committee on Effective Governance and Development, which was created to ensure implementation of PLEDDG Project in Kremenchuk. The meeting was dedicated to the sustainability of the efforts within PLEDDG Project. The meeting was attended by First Deputy Mayor Volodymyr Pelypenko, PLEDDG Director Oleksandr Kucherenko, PLEDDG Senior Governance Advisor Kadie Ward, PLEDDG Senior Expert, Head of Experts Group Ihor Lepyoshkin, PLEDDG consultant Andrii Zaluznyi, active city residents.

It is worth mentioning that Kremenchuk has been a PLEDDG partner city for two and a half years.

According to Kadie Ward, PLEDDG experts put an emphasis on three areas, namely democratic governance (the quality of provision of various public services, citizen engagement), SMEs growth (providing a business environment conducive to SME development), and decentralization and cooperation between various branches of power. Ihor Lepyoshkin noted that, apart from methodological assistance to Kremenchuk, PLEDDG provided financial assistance, in particular, with PLEDDG grant special equipment was bought and installed at Molodizhnyi District Administration Service Center, an information center based on UC “Kremenchukinvest”, having in place the instruments required for building communication with entrepreneurs of various countries, seeking solutions to export and import of goods, etc.; creating the Bureau for Export at “Association for Promotion of International Business and Development “Bureau for Export Promotion” Public Organization was following in line.

Kremenchuk and PLEDDG work together to ensure the sustainability of PLEDDG efforts in the city, which is expected to be completed by September 2020. Overall, 16 cities from 4 Ukrainian regions have partnership relations with PLEDDG.
