Zhmerynka wil start waste sorting
“Solid waste sorting as a key to the cleanness in Zhmerynka” – this is the project which is being implemented in Zhmerynka. Today, at a meeting with project executives, a discussion was held on the project directions and activities. According to the author of the project Anatoliy Konoval, Head of the Economic Department at Zhmerynka City Council, the project provided for the procurement of 170 containers for separate waste collection. Waste segregation will be as follows: plastic, paper, and glass. Multi-colored garbage containers are to be placed in every educational institution and municipal establishment in Zhmerynka. At the same time, the project provided for the establishment of an eco-club on the premises of the Family Reading Library, with a view to promote the eco-system conservation among the local youth. To this end, the plan is to purchase a projector, 4K cameras, and a computer.
The Agreement on Implementation of the Project “Solid waste sorting as a key to the cleanness in Zhmerynka” was signed between the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and the Executive Committee of Zhmerynka City Council in the framework of the Project “Partnership for Local Economic Development” (PLEDDG Project). The budget of the project is 568.8 thous. UAH, with 371 thous. UAH contributed by PLEDDG Project, and 197.8 thous. UAH by the city.
