Today, on June 7, 2018, Poltava hosts presentation of the SME Development Support Fund created in the framework of the project “Partnership for Local Economic Development”. During the presentation, the Fund’s representatives announced the opening of the call for grants.

The event welcomed the representatives of Poltava City Council, small and medium-sized enterprises, NGOs, education institutions, and PLEDDG team.

Valeriy Kokot, PLEDDG Senior Expert in Business Development, told the participants about support to be given by the Fund for creating positive environment for entrepreneurship development in Poltava.

“The developed “Program for SME Competitiveness Enhancement 2018-2020” calls for raising competitiveness, which can be done by creating favorable conditions for business operation. It is either possible by means of target supporting of enterprises by local authorities and entrepreneurship development institutions. The main objective of the Fund is to facilitate implementation of the programs of support for SME in 16 partner cities, which have been developed with the help PLEDDG’s methodology and accepted by the city councils. In Poltava region, the Fund covers Poltava, Kremenchuk, Horishni Plavni, and Myrhorod. The project is being implemented by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities at the support of the Government of Canada until 2020”, – Valeriy Kokot said.

Valeriia Tkachenko, Fund’s Coordinator, announced basic criteria and the procedure for selection of the grant applications.

As soon as speeches were delivered, the attendees were welcomed to put their questions about the Fund’s activity and to learn about the ways of winning a grant, having their questions reasonably answered.
