Successful development of Ukrainian territorial communities and meaningful transformational process relies on people ready to work under new conditions both professionally and in terms of their worldview. It is vital that they have knowledge of new technologies in local economic development management and relevant skills to apply it in the context of a certain community. PLEDDG Project provides a comprehensive assistance for its partner cities to build an efficient cooperation across all levels of governance and enhances the capacity of Ukrainian municipal sector through extending cross-sectoral dialogue, integrated planning of local economic development, and strengthening of public service capacity based on customized training programs.

As of July 2019, 5425 civil servants of local self-governance bodies from 296 Ukrainian cities and amalgamated territorial communities have completed a special course through a series of trainings delivered by PLEDDG Project and funded by Global Affairs Canada. A striking case in point is Vitaliy Pogosyan, Director of Economics and Investment Department of Vinnytsia City Council, whose work with PLEDDG Project to strengthen Vinnytsia’s capacity became the first success story of PLEDDG, which was first showcased at Ukraine Reform Conference on July 2-4, 2019 in Toronto.

The case study of synergetic activity of PLEDDG Project and Vinnytsia opens up a series of success stories about the results of cooperation between PLEDDGE Project and partner cities. The next success story will be published in fall 2019.
