On November 29, a festival of business ideas StartUp Fest was held in Zaporizhia with the support of PLEDDG. The event was initiated by the regional and municipal authorities, Zaporizhia Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The StartUp Fest has already become a unique platform for sharing experience and presenting innovative projects of Ukrainian entrepreneurs from all over the country. Startups presented this year offered non-standard solutions in the agricultural, legal, IT spheres, as well as in the areas of ecology, energy, medicine and inclusive creative programs.

Bronwyn Cruden, Deputy Head of Development Cooperation of the Embassy of Canada to Ukraine and Rafael Costa, Manager, Business Center in the City of Vaughan, Ontario, Canada shared supporting practices of small and medium-sized businesses in Canada.

Within the framework of the forum, a competition of innovative projects took place. Among the 77 submitted applications, the jury selected 33 projects-finalists. The first place in the Innovative Startups category was received by Denis Skupyi for a project on the casting of the details for automotive equipment.

The representatives of the Embassy of Canada to Ukraine Bronwyn Cruden and Vlad Ionescu Senior Development Officer,First Secretary – Development have also visited Berdyansk. During the meeting with the Mayor Volodymyr Chepurnyi, the results of the city’s cooperation with PLEDDG as well as 11 initiatives that are being implemented in the city were discussed.
