1Today, on April 17th, Vinnytsia is hosting the VinLadyFest Women Business Forum. The two-day Forum, which takes place at the Franz hotel, brings together 150 women from various Ukrainian cities. The Forum speakers are former Ukrainian president Viktor Yushchenko, founder and First Dean of the Kyiv Mohyla Business School (KMBS), the President of the Kyiv School of Economics, the former Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine (2014) Pavlo Sheremeta, Deputy Mayor Vladyslav Skalskyi, etc.

For the third year the forum has been gathering business ladies from Kyiv, Lviv, Ternopil, Poltava, Chernivtsi, Khmelnytskyi, Kramatorsk, and other Ukrainian cities. The forum participants are united by a desire to grow and improve themselves by pursuing their professional choices. The forum serves as a platform for networking, sharing experiences, useful master classes, a source for motivation and inspiration for women entrepreneurs.

“How to become successful in all aspects at once, achieving harmony and combining all the versatility of a woman: to be wife, mother, and a professional in a chosen field. The forum guests will be famous women who will share their personal success stories, unlock secrets of business growth and personal development. It has been proved already that women in business are more socially responsible and effective in terms of society development”, – said Nadia Lysetska, initiator and organizer of the VinLadyFest Women Business Forum, founder of the “Women in Business” Ukrainian Platform, the President of NGO “Vinnytsia Club of Business People”.

Vinnytsia Deputy Mayor, Vladyslav Skalskyi, pointed out that Vinnytsia had a number of programs for SME development.

“Vinnytsia authorities and Vinnytsia Mayor Serhii Morhunov place a lot of emphasis on local economic development. As far as economic development is concerned, small and medium enterprises are an economic driver. Last year, the number of SMEs grew by 3%. In the past, nobody talked about gender stereotypes shaping this sector of economy. Today we are implementing various programs for business where a third of the participants are women”, – Vladyslav Skalskyi said.

Among keynote speakers of the VinLadyFest Women Business Forum was the ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko. He noted that a woman’s work is important in any sphere of public life.

“On the one hand, it is a good thing that women and men are equal participants in domestic and foreign processes. You remember well how nations all over the world became prosperous due to their economy, therefore, there are a range of economic models. Today we have a lot of challenges concerning women and their role in the economy. We cannot do without a woman in any sphere”, – Viktor Yushchenko said.

The organizer of the VinLadyFest Women Business Forum is the NGO “Vinnytsia Club of Business People”, which partnered with Vinnytsia City Council and Partnership for Local Economic Development and Democratic Governance Project (PLEDDG) to organize the event.
