2019-04-12The city of Ivano-Frankivsk is hosting training on “Application of Investment Instruments in Communities”, which was organized by the Department for International Cooperation, European integration, Tourism and Investments of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration jointly with Partnership for Local Economic Development and Democratic Governance Project (PLEDDG), which is implemented by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and funded by Global Affairs Canada.

The representatives of regional state administrations, executive committees, and amalgamated communities are taking part in the training.

The training takes place on April 11-12. At the training, participants are set to discuss instruments of local economic development, objectives of investment instruments for local economic development, types of investments and fundraising sources, hard and soft competitiveness factors, organizational instruments of activation of investment processes; a stage-by-stage plan for forming a community’s investment passport, interaction with public institutions specializing in investment attraction, a community’s human capital as the key to effective investment attraction, development of investment portal, creation of an effective monitoring system for investment attractiveness of a community, etc.

Apart from lecture material, participants will be involved in group activities for joint task-solving and experience-sharing. Participants will acquire practical skills related to identification of the key components of investment attractiveness of communities, development of institutions the activity of which is aimed at social and economic development of communities, as well as will work out communication strategies to attract investors, etc.

Upon completion of the training, participants will receive certificates of completion of the training on local economic development.
