On May 14, 2020, the “School Public Budgetting – First Steps!” webinar was held with the support of PLEDDG and PAUCI Foundation. Over 60 representatives of local governments, schools and public organizations took part in the event.
The introduction of school public budgeting allows students to implement really necessary and useful projects in their educational institutions. Despite the fact that quarantine restrictions have shifted the time frame for implementing such initiatives, it has become an additional opportunity for local governments to prepare for the introduction of such practices.
During the seminar, the participants discussed the specifics of school public budgeting and its differences from the project competition, learned how to get the authorities interested and encourage schools to implement such initiatives as well as how to properly prepare the program and provisions for school public budgeting.
