On October 11-12, Zaporizhia hosted the International Forum “InCo Forum Integration & Cooperation”. The aim of the forum was to present the key changes in investment, trade and cooperation in domestic and foreign markets as well as their specific character in the light of EU free trade zone agreement. PLEDDG experts V.Kokot and O.Voytovych together with PLEDDG coordinator in Zaporizhia Oblast S.Kruglyak attended the Forum.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman opened the Forum. In his welcoming speech, he emphasized the challenge that government is facing regarding creation of a proper enabling environment for business operations and elimination of any barriers to investment attraction.
The participants had an opportunity to take part in one of the three sessions. The first session, which was organized as an expert discussion, was dedicated to an increase in exports by Ukrainian companies. Among guest speakers, there were representatives of diplomatic missions, industry associations, businesses from EU countries, Turkey, China, Canada, Israel, UAE.
The second session dealt with issues related to the integration into global economy. Participants shared their perspectives and experience regarding ways and aspects of Ukrainian produce going international.
The third session, which was moderated by PLEDDG’s Valeriy Kokot, covered a variety of issues, including business support instruments and the funding of export and import activity, internal cooperation, cooperation with international technical and financial assistance projects (EU, EBRD, GIZ, PLEDDG, Chamber of Commerce of Ukraine, industry organizations).
At the Forum, PLEDDG experts presented the Zaporizhia Region Investment Overview, which was elaborated with support from PLEDDG Project. This Investment Overview provides potential investors with full and exact information on Zaporizhia’s economic potential, investment climate, SME support programs, as well as allows them to assess investment opportunities in the region and find reliable partners.
