A seminar on project management was held on 15-17 February at the Vinnytsia Regional Office of the Association of Ukrainian Cities. The seminar was co-organized by PLEDDG and the Association of Ukrainian Cities.

Specialists from Vinnytsia, nearby villages, settlement councils and amalgamated territorial communities of Vinnytsia and Ivano-Frankivsk oblasts involved in the preparation of the development projects participated in the event.

The purpose of the seminar was to support the local government specialists in turning interesting ideas in actual local development projects. The event was conducted by NGO “Volyn Resource Center” (Rivne). Mini-lectures, practical exercises, presentations, group discussions, visual elements (presentations) were used in the event.

On day one the participants learned about types of projects, sources of funding, donors’ motivation; defined and selected project idea; reviewed the peculiarities of public-private partnership projects and examples of the local and regional development projects, learned about project structure.

The second day was devoted to the group work with specific projects – description of the problem, goal and objectives of the project, description of the activities, expected outputs, monitoring of project implementation.

Next in the program was project budget, annexes and submission of project application, project implementation (team, procurement procedures, types of procurement, visualization, special aspects of utilizing public funds).
