20190729_103912On July 30, it was the second time the representatives of local self-governance bodies received a training on “Gender-oriented budgeting under present-day conditions”. The event was held in the framework of cooperation between Melitopol and PLEDDG Project “Partnership for Local Economic Development and Democratic Governance” with support of Plenipotentiary on Equal Rights and Opportunities for Women and Men – First Deputy Mayor of Melitopol Iryna Rudakova.

A gender-oriented budgeting analysis across aesthetic education schools was performed after completion of the first part of the training. The results were reported at the All-Ukrainian Forum in Kyiv in February 2019 and the Women’s Congress in Mariupol in May this year.

In the light of this, the budget program was amended in terms of target indicators, as well as the guidelines were developed on how to overcome a gender gap in “Culture” section, which would make it possible to spend local funds more efficiently in future.

Currently, the specialists of the “Healthcare” and “Education” sections are being trained. The developments and guidelines will be taken into consideration for 2020 local budget planning.
