Проект ПРОМІС представляє дослідження «Внутрішньо переміщені особи: соціальна та економічна інтеграція в приймаючих громадах»As a result of the annexation of Crimea by Russia and loss of control over the part of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions by Ukraine, thousands of people were forced to leave their place of residence and move to other regions of Ukraine. In particular, a large number of IDPs have been registered in Vinnytsia, Zaporizhia, Ivano-Frankivsk and Poltava regions. While adapting to new social and economic conditions in host communities, IDPs have to face a number of difficulties and problems. That is why there was an objective need for a detailed analysis of integration of IDPs in host communities.

As part of the PLEDDG Project, a study on “Internally Displaced Persons: Social and Economic Integration in Host Communities”, dedicated to the analysis of needs of IDPs in Ukraine in general and Vinnytsia, Zaporizhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Poltava regions in particular, was prepared.

The main objective of the study was to determine the needs of IDPs and minimize the negative aspects of their integration into host communities, the exploitation of the positive potential of forced internal migration in Ukraine, taking into account the characteristics of specific regions and the international experience, the development of recommendations for social adaptation and integration of IDPs, who fled from the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and from ATO zone and settled down in Vinnytsia, Zaporizhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Poltava regions.

The results of the study can be used by public authorities, international technical assistance programs, NGOs and charitable organizations, associations of IDPs, etc. for the purpose of developing action plans and strategies that address IDPs-related issues. The study materials and results will be useful for civil servants, local authorities, international projects and internally displaced persons.
