On October 12-13, Ivano-Frankivsk hosted II International Investment Forum “Partnership and Prospects”. The idea of the forum was to present Ivano-Frankivsk as a city that attracts investors and is good for making business connections.

The event welcomed representatives of foreign diplomatic missions in Ukraine, international financial institutions, foundations, business organizations, representatives of educational and cultural organizations, members of Parliament, city mayors. Ihor Lepyoshkin, PLEDDG Senior Expert in Local Governance and Economic Development, Kadie Ward, Senior Governance Advisor and Kent McMullin, Canadian expert in business development and democratic governance, all contributed to the forum’s success. In her presentation, Ms.Ward focused on municipal marketing by explaining how to identify competitive advantages of the region or a city and make them iconic and attractive both for tourists and potential investors. Having extensive experience in the development of successful business strategies, Mr. McMullin shared a story of Edmonton’s development as the city of modern technologies and dynamic economy.

Forum also hosted a panel discussion between representatives of local business community, non-governmental organizations and municipal officials. The discussion was moderated by PLEDDG representatives. Mr. Kent McMullin shared Canadian experience of SME support. For more information follow the link.
