At a Zaporizhia City Council session, Zaporizhia Development Strategy 2028 elaborated within PLEDDG Project was approved.
Zaporizhia Development Strategy 2028 was prepared by project “Partnership for Local Economic Development and Democratic Governance” (PLEDDG) jointly with the Coordination Council through city community representatives by means of negotiations held during 2016-2017.
The objective of the Strategy was to address issues such as local development, the city’s environmental recovery and conservation, improvements in the competitiveness of the local economy, tourism development, improvement of quality of urban living for citizens by raising investments and community building based on the idea of sustainable development of Zaporizhia.
While working on drafting of the Strategy during 2016-2017, the Coordination Council assisted by PLEDDG consultants carried out a research by polling the business and community representatives, identified problems of the city, and defined a long-term vision of its development.
“Zaporizhia – 2028” Development Strategy represents a challenging goal to transform Zaporizhia into an ultra-modern European city.
Executive bodies of the City Council, undertakings, institutions and organizations of all ownership status, and civil organizations of the city will have to abide by essential provisions of the Strategy when preparing annual programs, budget and development plans.
