On February 8, 2017, the city of Kremenchuk hosted a ceremony of signing of the Memorandum of Understanding due to the launch of the “Open City” Platform in the city. The Memorandum was signed by Kremechuk Mayor Mr. Vitaliy Maletskyy, the President of East Europe Foundation Mr. Viktor Lyakh and Vice-president of the NGO “Association for Development of International Business” Mr. Kostyantyn Bryzhakh.

“City Council may be unaware of all problems facing the city dwellers. In this regard, citizen participation is of crucial importance. The implementation of this initiative will make our local government more open and efficient”, says Vitaliy Maletskyy.

Kremenchuk has become the 47th city in Ukraine and the third city in Poltava region to have joined the Platform. The implementation of the Open City Platform in Kremenchuk has become possible thanks to financial support from PLEDDG Project.

Following the presentation of the initiative and signing of the Memorandum, a training course was organized for the City Council and other city institutions’ employees on the practical application of the Open City Platform.
