Association of Ukrainian Cities, in the framework of international technical assistance project “Partnership for Local Economic Development and Democratic Governance” (PLEEDG Project), opens a call for proposals for the AUC member city councils for funding of short-term initiatives facilitating women participation in local economic development.
The main objective of the call for proposals is facilitation of women’s participation in local economic development through implementation of short-term initiatives in AUC member cities through cooperation of local governments with non-governmental organizations and/or business aimed at achievement of specific results of increasing women’s active participation in economic life of the communities and/or in the decision-making process at the local level.
Initiatives to be funded should support implementation of at least one of the following tasks:
– building local capacity for women’s participation in local economic life;
– elimination of gender discrimination in the labor market;
– expanding economic opportunities for women;
– development of women entrepreneurship;
– decreasing the level of unemployment among women;
– expanding women participation in the decision making at the local level.
Project implementation activities can include: organization and running of training events, round tables, information campaigns, training programs development, development and implementation of plans for support of women entrepreneurs and young leaders, carrying out surveys (for example, “gender analysis” of local budgets, development of gender portrait of the city), providing advisory support.
Attention! The initiatives including only one event (a conference, forum or seminar), protest campaigns, political, religious campaigns, activities damaging the environment will not be funded.
A maximum implementation period for a project: 6 months.
The total budget: 600,000 UAH.
The budget for one initiative: from 40,000 to 100,000 UAH.

Applications are accepted only in Ukrainian until June 8, 2017 inclusive.
Applications should be signed by the authorized person, stamped (if applicable) and sent to the aforementioned address in sealed envelopes.
