On July 12, 2018, Khmilnyk City Council hosted a presentation of the SME Development Support Fund in the framework of the project ““Partnership for Local Economic Development” (PLEDDG Project), where a call for grants as part of the Fund’s activity was announced.

The event welcomed Mayor Serhii Redchyk, managers of the city council’s structural units, small and medium-sized enterprises, NGOs, education institutions, and PLEDDG team members.

In his welcome speech, Mayor Serhii Redchyk greeted the attendees and expressed, on occasion, his gratitude for assistance in implementation of local entrepreneurship development projects.

Particularly, Serhii Borysovych informed that Khmilnyk City Council approved the “Program for Enhancement of SME Competitiveness for 2018-2020”, aimed at strengthening competitiveness of SME in Khmilnyk through creation of favourable conditions for business activity, specific purpose assistance provided by local authorities and institutions for entrepreneurship development, and facilitated access to various business development tools.

Oleksandr Kucherenko, Director of PLEDDG Project, outlined the areas of cooperation with Khmilnyk.

Valeriy Kokot, PLEDDG Senior Expert in Business Development, informed about the support to be provided by the Fund for entrepreneurship development and local economic development in Khmilnyk, and mentioned the basic criteria and selection procedure for the grant applications to be submitted in the framework of the Fund. According to his words, the Fund provided support for development of the small business entities through creating respective infrastructure and entrepreneurs’ skills improvement, and assistance in implementation of programs.

After speeches were delivered, the participants took the occasion to ask their questions and receive a detailed information on the Fund’s activity (financing terms, periods for submitting grant applications, selection criteria for the project applications, etc.).
