Last year a hub for NGOs opened at Pushkina Street in Vinnytsia, mostly known as “HubVinnytsia” or NGO-Hub. Very soon the hub will have an official name and its own brand.

This was said to Vezha by Stanislav Danilov, Deputy Director of Public Society Development of “City Development Institute” UC, who added that it was right the time for the Hub’s brand to be developed, and so was for the partnership, as part of the project “Meaningful City: a Space for Communication and Participation”, and woud be presented to the public soon.

– The Hub started operating as far back as in January in test mode, in the framework of which there was elaborated the strategy for development of the Hub and the partnership, partnership agreement, Hub’s business model, communication, etc. Presently, the development of these documents is in the finishing straight, so we expect the test activities to have been completed in June, – Danilov said.

At the same time, Ivan Poliukhovych, a Member of the Interim Coordination Council of the Hub, who, among other tasks, takes decisions on whether to permit certain organizations to conduct their events in the Hub or not, giving reasons for the criteria for such organizations to be selected. As he says, neither the events of discriminative nature, which violate human rights, nor the politically oriented or agitation-related ones are allowed in the Hub. The Interim Coordination Council shall decide on the compliance of certain event with the above said criteria by voting.

In general, for the testing period of Hub operation (from January to May and as of May 21), it has hosted 61 event, organized by NGOs and initiatives, and also by three public utility companies, two departments of Vinnytsia City Council, police, and one private enterprise.
