imgb657d746c07111b213346a44f8fa2218“Implementation of the gender-oriented budgeting at the local level” – this is the topic of the two-day training which PLEDDG Project started in Myrhorod on July 25. The consultants of the Canadian project provide assistance to Myrhorod – a PLEDDG partner city – to elaborate the essential principles and stages for ensuring equal opportunities of men and women in terms of funds allocation.

With participation of Mayor Serhii Solomakha, the Project’s consultants and representatives of the structural units of the executive committee are carrying out an analysis of gender problems and compare other countries’ experience, trying to adapt it to local programs.

On the first training day the participants focus on the notions of gender analysis and gender-oriented budgeting. The experts on gender-oriented budgeting Svitlana Zhavoronkova and Tamara Ohorodova share their experience. The training’s agenda includes practical activities based on the gender-oriented case studies and approaches, presentation of developments, discussion and development of the action plan for implementing such approach to budgeting in Myrhorod.
