On February 26, the Modern Tourist and Resort City Development Model project was presented in Khmilnyk. The initiative is supported by PLEDDG and implemented by the Tourist and Recreation Ukraine NGO in partnership with the Khmilnyk City Council and PRAVO NGO.
The presentation was attended by the Mayor Sergey Redchyk, PLEDDG Project Regional Coordinator in Vinnytsia oblast Oksana Bondar, representatives of specialized structural divisions of the City Council, public associations.
The project is aimed at the development of the city’s tourism industry and provides for the creation of a tourist information center, new tourist products and the development of new business models in this sphere.
The initiative will allow to implement a modern model of tourist services provision by SMEs and create favorable conditions for improving the competitiveness of SMEs in Khmilnyk by using the tourist potential of the city, engaging in related business activities and developing the information and tourist center.
As part of the project, it is planned to conduct a series of training sessions, master classes, and trainings for residents of the city and district on the production and promotion of souvenirs, in particular, products and services of “green businesses”, as well as popularization of tourist knowledge about the environment of the Khmilnyk sub-region. For this purpose, training sessions are planned in order to explain the advantages of cluster initiatives and clusters’ success stories.
