In partnership with PLEDDG Project, Ivano-Frankivsk’s authorities are working to enhance the tourist potential of the city. On August 22, 2018, Ivano-Frankivsk’s Lumiere cinema hosted a presentation of a new mobile app “Visit Ivano-Frankivsk”. The mobile app, which includes a comprehensive guide about the city, enables local residents and tourists to receive information about various city objects, which are equipped with special transmitters, on their smartphones. There have been installed about 20 transmitters around the city. The app also offers a special audio-tour on the city’s historical landmarks in four languages (Ukrainian, English, German, and Polish).
The mobile app “Visit Ivano-Frankivsk” includes a map of the city, information about local historic sites, transport, security, offers tips on where one can have a tasty meal, do shopping, or pass their leisure time, as well as contains valuable information for city residents about the status of the services of Administration Service Center or news from local authorities. The app is free and user-friendly.
The mobile app “Visit Ivano-Frankivsk” has been developed as part of the project “Smart Tourism in Ivano-Frankivsk” implemented with the support of the Democratic Governance and Development Initiatives Support Fund of PLEDDG Project. The purpose of the app is to foster the growth of the tourist potential of Ivano-Frankivsk, make available and distribute information about the community’s resources and enhance the city’s external attractiveness.
