The representatives of the Embassy of Canada to Ukraine, the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, as well as leaders and representatives of partner cities and communities took part in the event. In order to guarantee each participant`s health security, for the first time the meeting was conducted via online platform.

Ashley Mulroney, Counsellor, Head of Development Cooperation, Embassy of Canada to Ukraine, Sebastien Hamel, Executive Director, FCM Programs, and Oleh Voitovych, State Secretary, Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine also joined the SC meeting.
During the meeting, participants reviewed the annual report for the 5th year (2019-2020) and plans for the final 6th year of the Project`s realization.

“Despite the challenges that have arisen in 2020, PLEDDG continues to implement its activities and support partner-cities. The sustainability of Project’s initiatives remains our main goal for 2020. We can already see positive effects of implementing introduced tools. During the final year, we expect more quality changes in our common list of accomplishments,” said Olexandr Kucherenko, PLEDDG Project Director.

During the meeting a map of results was presented in order to demonstrate the application of the initiatives introduced and supported by PLEDDG. This new interactive tool allows you to see the full picture of the mechanisms implemented in each of the partner-cities.

“The project is moving towards institutionalization of its achievements. We are proud that these practices have become a new reality for partner-cities and communities. This is an indicator of PLEDDG effectiveness. Today our fruitful joint work yields the results,” said Sebastian Hamel, Executive Director, FCM Programs.

The final year will be dedicated to strengthening and ensuring future sustainability of all the initiatives implemented. Each of these tools has already created a reliable basis for further successful development of partner-cities.
