For the seventh time already Lviv has hosted the All-Ukrainian Local Self-Governance Forum, which has gathered more than 250 participants from all over Ukraine. An annual conference, the Local Self-Governance Forum is the territory where experience is shared, discussions and analysis of topical issues and prospects in local self-governance take place.

On March 19, Lead Investments and Local Economic Development Expert from the city of Edmonton, Canada, Kent McMullin, paid a working visit to Melitopol. In the course of his trip he met with Melitopol Mayor Serhii Minko.

The regional state administration hosted a working meeting with Canadian expert in investment and local economic development Kent McMullin for sharing knowledge and practical experience in the fireld of investment activity for representatives of public bodies with the support of the project “Partnership for Local Economic Development and Democratic Governance” (PLEDDG).

PLEDDG experts visited Myrhorod. At a regular session of the Task Team on development of Myrhorod’s Marketing Strategy, a Draft Marketing Strategy of Myrhorod was presented, the detailed plan for implementation of the Strategy and approaches to visualizing of the city were discussed as well as the need to update Myrhorod’s brand.

Today, on March 6, Zaporizhia Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosts the first “round table” format session on sharing experience in social entrepreneurship. The session welcomed representatives of regional and city council, Zaporizhia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, social enterprises, and NGOs. The event was organized by Executive Committee of Zaporizhia City Council with participation of PLEDDG Project’s reprersentatives.

Today, on March 6, Vinnytsia City Council hosts an extended session of the Advisory Committee on Effective Governance and Development created for implementation of PLEDDG Project in Vinnytsia. Representatives both of the City Council and PLEDDG summed up the results of their joint work on implementation of a range of initiatives and discussed plans for further cooperation.

On March 5, Ivano-Frankivsk hosted a training seminar on strategic environmental assessment, which agenda included its role, legislative framework, basic implementation principles and elements. The event was organized in the framework of “Partnership for Local Economic Development and Democratic Governance” Project (PLEDDG), implemented by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) in partnership with the Association of Ukrainian Cities.

ABC Book. The practical guide “Exporter’s ABC Book” was presented at the session of the Council of Zaporizhia Chamber of Commerce and Industry made up of the region’s leading companies. The edition comes as part of activities carried out by Zaporizhia Center for Export Support, created by Zaporizhia CCI and Zaporizhia Regional Development Agency with PLEDDG support.

2019 may become a landmark year for the Melitopol cherry, the widely known brand in all of Ukraine. This is so because, with the beginning of a new year, the process of registering geographical indications of origin started exactly under such name as “Melitopol Cherry”.
