On September 12, the Advisory Committee on Effective Governance and Development held an extended session on “Planning sustainability of PLEDDG Project implementation results”. Its aim was to discuss the outcomes of the initiatives and projects implemented with support from PLEDDG Project in Melitopol in terms of their sustainability.

A meeting on “The Concept of Poltava Brand” (or how to position an up-to-date image of the city worldwide) took place as part of the project “The Development and Implementation of Poltava Marketing Strategy”. During the session the task team members were generating ideas to be used further by PLEDDG to create a city brand.

Today, the town hall hosted PLEDDG experts, who, together with local government, were working on modifications to the implementation plan for 2027 Kolomyia Development Strategy. The amendments became necessary for amalgamation of villages with Kolomyia. They were made to take the interests of all localities of our amalgamated territorial community into account.

Zhmerynka has ranked in the top 5 of the best Ukrainian cities by investor appeal criterion. The rating was made public by the Fund “The Regional Center for Economic Research and Support for Business”. Such a result was achieved due to openness and transparency of the actions carried out by the Zhmerynka City Council’s Executive Committee as well as due to continuous participation of the town in various partnership programs. No doubt, behind such rating result is a routine and methodical work done by the people who are in charge of deciding on development priorities, drawing up strategic plans and maps for investors, making databases public, welcoming the community to take part in this process.

The PLEDDG’s grant for “Meaningful City” is expiring next month, so “Meaningful City” is going to run its voyage independently from autumn on. Dozens of active citizens, who came to the hub at 16:00, were told what had been achieved for that time, and how “Meaningful City” was going to develop both as a partnership and a hub. Notably, Mayor Serhii Morhunov, Directors of the City Council Departments Vitaliy Pogosyan, Oksana Yatsenko, Maksym Filanchuk, as well as Integrated Development Expert Sofia Melnyk and PLEDDG Senior Expert, Head of Experts Group Ihor Lepyoshkin attended the meeting.

On August 20, “Creating “A Meaningful City” in Partnership” Forum took place in Vinnytsia, in which the city’s NGO representatives took part. During the event, the results of the project “A Meaningful City: Communication and Participation Area” were summed up. Its most valuable achievement was building up an environment of NGOs that teamed up for creating the Union of Vinnytsia NGO “Meaningful City” Network aimed at joint development of the Hub as a platform for interaction and dialogue. The further stage includes activating a consistent Hub-based cooperation between public community and Vinnytsia City Council.

On August 6, the first session of the task team on development of Horishni Plavni Marketing Strategy was held in the premises of the Horishni Plavni City Council, in which PLEDDG Project experts took part. Such collaborative work was aimed at creating Horishni Plavni’s brand, which would enhance the city’s attractiveness, increase its competitiveness as well as investor and tourist appeal.
